WHAT WE BELIEVE

We affirm The Apostle's Creed, The Nicene Creed, and The Westminster Confession and Catechism.

We are a Confessing Church Ministry committed to the fulfillment of

Jesus Christ's Greatest Commandment

(Mark 12:28-31)

and Great Commission

(Matthew 28:18-20).

We believe and bear witness to the truth that all power in heaven and earth is given to Jesus Christ by Almighty God, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead and set Him above all rule and authority, all power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

We believe and bear witness to the truth that God has put all things under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and has made Christ Head of the Church, which is His body.

We believe and bear witness to the truth that Christ calls the Church into being, giving it all that is necessary for its mission to the world, for its building up, and for its service to God.

We believe and bear witness to the truth that Jesus Christ is present with the Church in both Spirit and Word. It belongs to Jesus Christ alone to rule, to teach, to call, and to use the Church as He wills, exercising His authority by the ministry of women and men for the establishment and extension of His Kingdom from our neighborhood to the ends of the earth.

We believe and bear witness to the truth that Jesus Christ gives to His Church its faith and life, its unity and mission, its officers and ordinances. Insofar as Jesus Christ's will for the Church is set forth in Scripture, it is to be obeyed. In the worship and service of God and the government of the church, matters are to be ordered according to the Word by reason and sound judgment, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

In affirming with the earliest Christians that Jesus is Lord, the Church confesses that He is its hope and that the Church, as Christ's body, is bound to His authority and thus free to live in the lively, joyous reality of the grace of God.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

I.  Vision

We embrace God's vision for all people to be in the right relationship with Him, to share His wisdom and to live with Him forever, according to His eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

II. MISSION

A. WHO WE ARE

Affirming Christ as Head of the Church, we as members of Walhalla Presbyterian Church (USA) are called to be faithful Christians, children of God, as members of the Body of Christ.

B.  WHAT WE MUST DO

1. Proclaim Jesus as the Son of God to all nations (Matthew 28:19)

2. Baptize all those who believe (Matthew 28:19)

3. Be transformed by the renewing of our minds so that we may discern the will of God.   (Romans 12:2)

4. Love and keep His commandments, praying, praising, and reflecting God's Word in all we do.

5. Be God's servants to His congregation, community, and the world at large.

6. Teach freely God's Word in the Walhalla community and beyond to all who are thirsty: and to all who will come. (Matthew 28:20, Revelation 22:17)

7. Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him (Micah 6:8)
